Inter Miami CF has announced the acquisition of a 2024 International Roster Slot from D.C. United, marking a significant move for the club. In exchange for the slot, defender Christopher McVey will be transferred to D.C. United. Additionally, Inter Miami will potentially receive up to $100,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) based on McVey’s performance metrics.
Chris Henderson, Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director, expressed gratitude for McVey’s contributions to Inter Miami. Henderson highlighted McVey’s reliability and value to the squad since joining the club, emphasizing his role in the team’s historic title win last year. Henderson wished McVey success in his future endeavors.
McVey’s journey with Inter Miami began in advance of the 2022 MLS season. Throughout his tenure, he demonstrated consistency by participating in every match of his inaugural regular season. Across all competitions, McVey accumulated over 60 appearances for the team, registering one goal and one assist. Notably, he played a pivotal role in Inter Miami’s triumph in the inaugural edition of the Leagues Cup in 2023, contributing to the team’s milestone victory.
